Family Support Worker

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Family Support Worker to join Barnsley Borough Council on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake direct work with children to understand their lived experience, wishes and feelings, and support identified outcomes.

• Deliver targeted family support interventions in line with Child in Need planning.

• Support parents and carers to develop effective parenting skills, routines, boundaries and safety planning.

• Complete agreed pieces of work delegated by Social Workers, including welfare visits, transport, practical support and task-centred interventions.

• Monitor and record progress against plans, identifying any emerging risks or concerns.

• Contribute to Child in Need meetings, Core Groups, reviews and other multi-agency planning processes as required.

• Maintain accurate, timely and child-focused case recordings and reports.

Previous experience working as a family support worker

NVQ 4 or equivalent qualification in a related discipline
