Support Worker (Residential & Support Living)

Responsibilities:

Empower Daily Independence: Support customers with essential life skills, including meal prep, budgeting, shopping, tech use, and managing benefits.

Provide Compassionate Care: Deliver tailored, strengths-based support that helps individuals build confidence, emotional resilience, and community connections.

De-escalate & Guide: Use strong communication and conflict-resolution skills to manage complex behaviors and encourage positive choices.

Collaborate Across Teams: Work alongside Support Coordinators, multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, and family networks to provide well-rounded care.

Accurate & Safe Reporting: Keep clear, timely progress notes and ensure all support follows customer safety plans and service standards.

Qualifications:

Care Experience: Previous experience in a care or support role (professional or personal care backgrounds are welcome!).

Complex Needs Knowledge: Practical experience supporting individuals facing mental health challenges or complex care needs.

Key Soft Skills: A resilient, compassionate, and proactive attitude with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly.

Essential Basics: Good literacy, numeracy, and digital skills for accurate record-keeping and team updates.

Compliance Ready: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete one) and valid Right to Work in the UK.Desirable (Not Essential):

Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or working towards it).

Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.
