Support Worker – British Sign Language (BSL) Required

Nani Recruitment Ltd is recruiting experienced Support Workers with British Sign Language (BSL) skills for care and support services, Central London.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Care Worker
• British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 or above
• Confident communicating with service users using sign language
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to complete the required DBS process
• Right to work in the UK
• Up-to-date mandatory care training
• Ability to provide suitable employment references
• Good written and spoken English
• Reliable and professional

Desirable:

• Care Certificate
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs or hearing impairments
• Experience using Makaton or other communication methods

Main Duties:

• Supporting service users with daily living activities
• Communicating effectively using BSL
• Supporting personal care where required
• Promoting independence, dignity and choice
• Completing care notes and handovers
• Following safeguarding and health & safety procedures
• Supporting service users in the community
